Well one instance is the Revolutionary War. The Americans were almost all civilians. But nowadays we don’t have the balls to stand up and fight in case of an invasion. Anywhore about the need to own a firearm, it isn’t NEEDED, but I always like to have a little “up front insurance” in case of an attack.
Honestly, to use Revolutionary War as an example is a bit much, but I hear you. Things have changed since then, just slightly. This is a country now, a powerful country, and guns/firearms have also evolved, just slightly. If the “invaders” make their way to Rhode Island, we have a larger problem on our hands.
